"Why I'm a slut all year round and not just for Halloween"

I am one of the proudest sluts you will ever meet, guaranteed. I have always loved my sexuality and the lifestyle that comes with being kinky and open-minded. To me, I give no fucks when someone dubs me a slut, I just nod and grin, because they’re right: I am promiscuous, and my behaviour is taboo, but I don’t see it as an insult.

The word slut has changed throughout history to some degree; however, it has always been used as an offensive and derogatory slang term typically used as an insult for a woman perceived to have many sexual partners or to be sexually promiscuous.

Historically, dating back to the Middle Ages (around the 1400s), the word meant a person—usually a woman—with dirty, untidy, or slovenly habits and appearance. This older use is now rare or dated.
Some activists and groups have tried to reclaim the word (such as through international "SlutWalk" protests) to remove the stigma attached to female sexuality and protest victim-blaming.
It is also occasionally used in a non-derogatory or neutral way within specific subcultures (like polyamorous or BDSM communities) or as a self-identifier.
I fall under the category of a self-identifier, and in all honesty, it has been rare that I have been called a slut in an offensive way, because I run this magazine and the PR firm VavaViolet Public Relations (which specialises in the sex and relationship sector) people have genuinely been very supportive of my lifestyle and manner.
I have been lucky; most women haven’t been.
For example, at Halloween, a lot of women - and older teenagers - like to dress slutty during spooky season; this has been debated mostly by men about what it says about a person.
Personally, how is it any different to wearing a bikini on a beach? It’s a simple response to the debate, but in my humble opinion, it does the job.
The slut lifestyle is an interesting one. Currently, I am in a relationship, so I am enjoying being a slut to just one man.
What does my cheeky lifestyle look like?
Being free-use for my boyfriend (letting him fuck me whenever he wants, basically, unless I’m ill or not in the mood, which is never the case).
Writing naughty and erotic articles for the magazine daily, dealing with PR clients where our conversations and meetings always involve the discussion of sex, and being a freelance journalist writing about sex.
I’m also a big BDSM lover, so I'm often trying out new things in the bedroom; for example, presently my boyfriend and I are really into roleplaying.
If you want an article on how to live a slutty lifestyle, DM me on Instagram at sophblackman, and I will get that done for November.
Before I leave you, especially if you’re a woman, know that it is okay to enjoy being promiscuous.
