Since 1995, May has been recognised as Masturbation May — a yearly campaign celebrating self-pleasure while encouraging open conversations around solo sex, sexual wellness, and self-care. This year, feminist erotica platform FrolicMe is marking the occasion by offering one free erotic film every day throughout the month.
The platform says the initiative is designed to encourage people to make time for themselves and explore how self-pleasure can positively affect stress, mood, and overall well-being.
In total, 31 films will be released across May, all available free of charge without requiring payment details.
However, due to UK age-verification laws, users must create an account and confirm their age either through a selfie-based estimation tool or by uploading ID.
Anna Richards, founder of FrolicMe, says self-pleasure is often overlooked despite its connection to wellbeing. She argues that while people openly discuss habits like exercise, sleep, and mindfulness, pleasure is still treated as taboo, even though it can help people reconnect with their bodies and improve their quality of life.
Research and personal experiences alike suggest masturbation may support better sleep, lower stress, improve mood, relieve sexual tension, and help individuals better understand their own desires and preferences. Beyond those benefits, it can also simply be an enjoyable experience.
FrolicMe describes itself as an independent, female-founded erotica platform focused on female pleasure, inclusivity, and sexual empowerment. Alongside adult films, the site also produces erotic fiction and audio erotica, often expanding the same storyline across multiple formats.
According to the company, the Masturbation May collection was curated to feature a broad mix of themes, moods, and genres, allowing viewers to explore different kinds of erotic content — from intimate solo scenes to more adventurous storylines.
