From Harry Potter’s fanfiction to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the Internet has drawn on much experience from books and movies to create some of the hottest scenes in the world.
Here are the top six fanfictions to exist - in our humble opinion.
1. Midnight - Harry Potter fan fiction
The world of Harry Potter fan fiction includes a whole host of different couple combos - whether it's actual couples in the novels and films or made-up ones, like imagining what would happen if Harry and Hermione had got together, or if Draco and Harry had channelled their enemy energy into something else.
Midnight is a sexy fan fic between Ron and Hermione, set during the real events of the final book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
It's the night before Ron and Hermione are set to save Harry from the Dursleys, and Hermione decides it's time to ask Ron where their friendship/relationship stands - and she gets more than she could have expected...
2. Coming Out Of The Bedroom - Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan fiction
What would lesbian fan fiction be without Buffy the Vampire Slayer? Nothing, we tell you.
This one takes Tara Maclay and Willow Rosenberg's relationship outside of the TV show and into a steamy instant message exchange in the university library, before the women finally get to touch each other in real life.
3. Will You Give Me Everything I Want? - Killing Eve fan fiction
Everyone's latest TV show obsession, Killing Eve, has quickly established itself as the background for a whole load of new sexy fan fiction.
With Eve and Villanelle's will-they-won't-they relationship ongoing through the whole three seasons, Will You Give Me Everything I Want? reimagines what could have happened during that tense kitchen scene in Eve's house if only Eve and Villanelle had given in to the tension between them.
4. My Summer Sun - Twilight fan fiction
The Twilight series is basically one huge sexy fan fic of its own, with Bella and Edward at it so much. But that hasn't stopped fans from whipping up even sexier scenes borne of the series.
My Summer Sun won a competition to be crowned Summer of Smut Contest Winner, so it's guaranteed to be very sexy indeed. Set during an alternative narrative in New Moon where Bella didn't jump off that cliff and Edward didn't come back to Forks to save her, and instead Bella and Jacob finally acted on their sexual chemistry.
5. Friction - The Walking Dead fan fiction
The spark was palpable between Rick and Michonne when they first met during season three of The Walking Dead, before they finally got together and made everyone's dreams come true.
In Friction, Rick and Michonne find themselves with a rare opportunity to be home alone - and you can guess where that leads.
Anyone could come back at any moment, but they don't care.
6. After - Harry Styles fan fiction
After is an absolute mammoth feat of fan fiction. The Harry Styles fan fic, which started life on Wattpad, has a whopping 295 chapters across the whole three books, and 1.9 billion reads across the three Wattpad novels. Plus, it's now been made into a book series and a film, making its writer Anna Todd a millionaire. Makes us wanna take up a side hustle.
The protagonist is Tessa Young, a college student whose life gets turned upside down when she meets the rude and mysterious Harry (renamed as Hardin for the published novel). And of course, things don't stay PG for very long.
