A guide to unlocking your inner sensuality and feeling more feminine

Do you want more sex than you are having currently? 53% of women feel the same way. Contrary to popular belief, women do want to have sex, so what is holding us back? New research findings suggest that negative early sexual experiences are responsible.

Confidence in the bedroom starts with confidence in yourself. Here are five steps to help you unlock your inner sensuality and feel more feminine:

  1. Create a self-care space - 65% of men have man caves, and we can see why! A quiet space where you get to do whatever you want and remain undisturbed… Sign. us. up. Relaxation looks different for everyone; it can be as simple as setting up your own reading nook or as elaborate as building a cinema room or your very own spa. You may have heard of the rise of the “She-Shed” for gardening queens, but your space doesn’t have to be a) outdoor or b) task-related. It is about building a space solely for you that fully accommodates your needs.

  2. Connect with your physical body - In the wise words of Mother Gaga: Just Dance. It activates several brain functions and positively impacts both physical and mental health. Dancing helps to build body confidence and gives you more power and control over your physical movements. This helps to build sensuality because you learn to listen to your body and relax more into your movements. However, if dancing is not for you, why not try yoga? This is a slower-paced alternative that prioritises meditation and mindfulness. You could also incorporate these activities into your self-care space.

  3. Invigorate your senses - In the fast-paced world we live in, it’s easy to become desensitised to small pleasures, so be sure to make time for new experiences that invigorate your senses. Scent and touch have particularly lasting connections to memory and emotion. Treat yourself to your favourite meal, or why not get crafting and make something by hand? Oh, and don’t forget to masturbate.

  4. Discover new hobbies - Why not rediscover or try out a new hobby? If you are feeling disconnected from your inner sense of self, it can be grounding to be reminded that you are still capable of learning something new.

  5. Embrace your feminine power - Don’t internalise negative messaging about women. Read and educate yourself on women’s issues and achievements. Be confident in being a woman and remember that it is not in any way a secondary existence, as some would like us to believe.
