Sex toy review: 'I tried a glass sex toy for the first time - and discovered a new kink'

Glass dildos have always terrified me - and I know I'm not alone.

From anal sex to BDSM, exploring my sexuality has never been a problem. The mindset, 'I'll try anything once,' was always my sexual preference.

This was until I first came across the glass sex toy. Something about it, in all honesty, terrified me. I couldn't see or understand the appeal, so trying one was immediately ruled out in my mind.

I have since learnt that they are one of the best inventions ever to exist, and now I want an entire collection of them. A room full, or at least a glass cabinet filled with glass dildos of all different shapes and sizes.

Not only are they oddly beautiful to look at, but they genuinely are the closest you're going to get to feeling like you have a real penis inside you.

My mindset changed following an insightful (perhaps too raunchy) conversation about masturbating with a friend in a fancy Tapas restaurant.

Taking sips of our wine over giggles, she blurted out her new fascination with glass dildos.

Her boyfriend had gifted her a beautiful and luscious box full for Christmas. Ever since they had played a big part in her sex life, while masturbating alone and taking it to 'the next level' in her words.

So, naturally, when I returned to my inbox a few days later, I saw an email from Lovehoney asking if I'd like to review their 7-inch long Beaded Sensual Glass Dildo. I couldn't say no.

The fear of how hard and intense they look had left my close-minded self and was replaced with a deep curiosity.

When the toy - priced at £29.99 - arrived, I was prepared. With my research on how to use it done (lots of lube, lots), I hopped in bed.

The entire experience from the get-go blew my mind.

Never ever have I been able to, as they say, hit the G-spot so flawlessly and also, effortlessly.

It really did not take long to reach climax, as, to put it bluntly, the firmness truly lets the imagination go wild, as it feels like you're getting the real deal.

Sometimes I find it hard to let my mind wander when having fun alone, so playing with something that felt real made it an effortless climax.

Now a fan-girl of the glass dildo, I Googled how to experiment with such a device thanks to Lovehoney's extremely affordable dream of wonders.

A blog post by Lovehoney itself explained how this toy is made of borosilicate glass. It can be cooled or heated for added temperature control and play.

Utterly clueless to temperature kinks but a curious cat nonetheless, I stuffed the dildo in the fridge (in a bag, I have some class).

Again, I was left mind blown. So I heated it, and it turns out that's just as good.

Not only had this toy, which I had for under £30, helped me reach my G-spot and, therefore, climax without fail on every use, but it had also introduced me to a new kink.

Lovehoney, thank you for keeping me open-minded and sex-positive towards new experiences, as life is just too damn short not to orgasm.

It will come as no surprise that this review is 5/5 stars from me.
